Horizon Fitness Treadmill Reviews

Are there better choices for your home gym?

Our recent Horizon Fitness treadmill reviews revealed a decent line with a number of different models to choose from, depending on your budget and needs. However, their claim of "for commercial-quality workouts at home" just doesn't really hold true.

One of the biggest hurdles consumers face is choosing the model they want from the seemingly endless choices. Fist you have the Elite or the Horizon series to select from. Within each there are 4 or 5 models, with names like T64, 5.2T and WT950. Within the Elite Series there is also the Performance Series and Club Series. Yes, we're lost also!

Most of the models fall in the low- to mid-priced range, $1000-$2000, and each offers different features and capabilities.

Horizon Fitness Treadmill Ratings - How do they stack up to the competition?

It took us a while to sift through all of the models in order to present our Horizon treadmill review. The lower end models, those under $1000, were not that impressive at all. But we did not expect them to be. A basic rule of thumb is you're going to have to spend at least $1500 to get a decent treadmill.

Moving up the ladder, the quality and usability of the "higher-end" models, in particular the Performance Series models (PST6 and PST8) improves, although they still don't achieve the level of a commercial treadmill as advertised. Overall, our Horizon Fitness treadmill reviews showed that although some of the more expensive machines were decent, at the price level you are probably better off with one of the more highly rated brands such as Sole Treadmills, which offer much more bang for the buck. Sole models offered a better workout, with better programmability and a more impressive warranty. We found the construction to be noticeably better as well.

If you can afford to spend a little more money, you might want to learn more about Landice treadmills, which are consistently ranked #1 in customer satisfaction. Landice offers well-constructed exercise machines, with excellent programability and the highest quality workout of all major brands.

Fitness Events Opinion & Recommendation:

A high quality treadmill will easily last you 10, 20, 30 years, perhaps more, so in our opinion it makes sense to buy a better model, even if it costs a little more. The higher-prices treadmills offer significantly better construction and durability, which is important if you plan on using it regularly. Additionally, better models come with more features and options, allowing you to vary your workout, as well as more comprehensive warranties and better customer service.

Through our Horizon treadmill review we discovered that although there are a number of models to choose from, only the higher end ($1200+) models are worth a look, and in that range you can find a much better treadmill for the money.

For those interested in Horizon treadmill ratings, we'd have to give them a 5 out of 10, which is better than some of the other machines we have reviewed, but not as good as our top choices.

If you do buy one of these popular exercise units, or currently own and use one consistently, send along you own Horizon Fitness treadmill reviews and we'll be sure to add your feedback during our next website update!
